Mount Faito is a mountain that is part of the Lattari Mountains Regional Park: 1,131 meters high, has access from both Castellammare di Stabia and Vico Equense
Reachable in 8 minutes with the cable car from the Castellammare di Stabia station, Hiking on Mount Faito is an easy route for everyone with a maximum difference in height of 300 meters and with variation times ranging from 2 to 6 hours.
The altitude gives the idea of the classic Apennines, with centuries-old beech trees and limestone rock always emerging, and yet, once, at the top, the proximity of the sea becomes very evident. The islands of the Gulf of Naples are clearly distinguished: Ischia, Procida, Capri. The latter, crushed by the perspective, seems to join up with the peninsula.
On clear days you can see all the reliefs of Campania: to the north the mountains of Gaeta, the Massico, and the Matese; to the west the Tifatini, Partenio, Picentini, and Terminio; to the south the Alburni and the mountains of Cilento, at the bottom of the Gulf of Salerno. And then the unmistakable profile of Vesuvius stands out just a few steps away.
